Zion National Park (UT) - Sept. 19-20, 2005

Zion NP Map. Came down thru Brianhead Ski Area previous day and visited Ceadar Breaks

First Day - Entered Kolub Canyon section. Nice road access to several short hike

Yours truly at Upper Emerald Pool. Photo was taken by a British lady I met on the shuttle bus, who was a UN intepreter, and spoke 7+ languages. On the shuttle bus,I overheard her husband was whining about his feet hurting, so she asked to hike along with me, and he stayed behind

On the hike back from Emerald Pool(s),which were not impressive...

No vehicles are allowed in Zion Canyon section. Everone takes the free (with admission) shuttle from point to point. How quaint and rustic...

Heading East on Rt. 9. Impressive arch

1930's Zion-Mt. Carmel tunnel to east side of park allows single direction of traffic. Busses have to go down the middle

I found the scenery more diverse and better on the east side
