Lower Sauk River (WA) - June 29-30, 2019 - 8 miles (Sawmill to 530)
Please be patient while the pictures load...
A low water Lower Sauk overnighter with Jim and Sherry.
Oddly, my LVM inflator quit after one tube. Subsequently found out the solder joint on the trigger base broke. Should be fixable for a few more years of use!
Rigging in the shade of the bridge is nice. Across is the logjam that caused some problems 8 years ago
On the water at 11:49am
One of the few rapids on this low water trip
Verification photo. Thanks Jim2
Camp set up is only about 3 miles downstream from launch
Downstream view from camp. Shallow channel now. Hoping the water doesn't drop much overnight
View from under Wing shelter
Whitehorse Mtn. in the morning after the river fog dissipated
Ready to launch 11:40am
A few more river bends and the view is the same. Gravel bar is a reminder of low water
Diminishing view as we move downstream
The siltier Suiattle River adds to the clear Sauk flow
Just above the takeout we both got stranded for a few seconds
