Skagit River (WA) - July 29-30, 2017

Please be patient while the pictures load...

Jim wanted to take niece Mary-Ann and Manny on a Skagit intro trip, and I volunteered to be support boat. 12:21pm launch at Goodell Creek after the commercial outfitters left

A few easy riffles below the launch

Still some high level snow even at the end of July

Looking back towards Goodell area. Jim tries an attempt at fishing

Shaded lunch stop across from Damnation Creek, our usual stop, except it was already occupied

Site cleared after we set up lunch

Above first part of S-Curves

Into the big waves

Jim gives Mary-Ann some rowing lessons

Bacon Creek, below Copper Creek access where we dropped off Mary-Ann and Manny and they helped with part 2 of the shuttle for our overnighter

Next morning on our pseudo-island camp, looking upstream

Downstream view

On the water 'early' at 11:31am. Camp was in shade for much of the morning

12:36pm arrival at Marblemount

Verification photo. Skagit minutiae - using Google Earth's measure distance function down the center of the river channel from Goodell Creek to Copper Creek is 8.5 miles, to camp is 10.1 miles, and to Marblemount is 14.4 miles
