Cedar Breaks (UT) - Sept. 19, 2005
Please be patient while the pictures load...
After driving 1100 miles from Seattle, this is my first picture at Cedar Breaks, UT (spent previous nights in Baker, OR and Beaver, UT)
Cedar Breaks from Chessman Ridge Overlook. Taken at 7:25am. At El. 10647' ft. and high winds. Truck temp gage says 45 degrees. No one else is in the park area yet. I'm in shorts. Wonder why I'm cold?
After coughing up the $4.00 admission at the visitor center, I can get to Point Supreme. Definitely be worth it.
Looking down from Point Supreme
On the hike out to Spectra Point (1 mi.)
Colors are impressive. Temps are warming. No one else is here. What a great feeling...

Looking back from Spectra Point
From Rampart Point (another easy mile)
On the return trip. Spectra Point is the high "white point" on the far left. Rampart is behind (and slightly lower). At 9:50am 4 tours buses showed up and dumped a crowd. Cedar Breaks was quite nice when I was the only one there. Time to go on the Zion Kolob Canyons
